Historically after the all the Summer and Fall music festivals , basement shows , and weekend gigs the Pittsburgh Music Scene tends to hibernate. Sparked in the minds of Dream the Heavy’s Paul Dean Price III and T.K. Mundok, Winter Wonder Ball was merely an idea of how to get local bands , artists , and Vendors together to do a celebratory event to end the year .
With the backing of Opus One Productions and Mr. Smalls theater this year Winter Wonder Ball has become a reality!
Back Alley Sound, Normal Creatures, Dream The Heavy, and Hemlock for Socrates round out the bill giving us a diverse approach to music and performance. Each band has a unique sound guaranteed to satisfy all the Hip Hop lovers, Alternative Rockers, Synthwave drones, Post Punk Sad Boys, Art Rock elitists, and Metal Heads.
Dream the Heavy will also be officially releasing their single “Until Tomorrow” as already heard on Build the Scene, Scarfire Radio WITW , and 105.9 the edge .
Vending at the show are Pittsburgh’s own Blossom and Burr, Ritual Chains, Bedlam Arts and Crafts (all of whom also take part in the Bi Annual Allentown Night Market), Blossom and Burr (of the Oddities and Curiosity Expo). Steal City Vintage, the best vintage in the city, will also be vending, and, making their vending debut, Poppink, a local custom designer sure to delight!
Prom/Ball attire recommended but certainly not enforced. (Remember folks, this is supposed to be “Fluffy not Stuffy” I’m told) However, you might want to come in your best because Winter Wonder Ball is offering Prom/Ball style pictures taken by Ava Grace Studios for just $5 a pop!! (or, maybe click??)
Oh, and of course we can’t forget to mention that all the nights festivities and chaos will be hosted by God Hates Unicorns!… but only because they had nothing else to do ;).
