It was time to hit what would be the final show for me of 2022 at Black Forge Coffee at Mckees Rocks, PA, and I was joined by none other than Martian as we looked forward to seeing September Mourning. It was a very packed show as everyone looked forward to having their souls collected.
Once everyone got settled in, it was time for the show to begin. The very lovely and talented Dematus took the stage as the opener and what an experience that was. The lead vocalist transitioned between soft and hard vocals during the set, and each song they played rocked the heck out of the crowd. One thing that I will appreciated was the fact that the bassist was wearing a shirt adorned with clowns from Killer Klowns From Outer Space. It was a pretty exhilarating set and everyone enjoyed what the band had to offer them.
Afterwards, it was time for Ghostlight Labyrinth to keep the vibes flowing, and boy did they do that. Their sound was more melodic and they had almost a post punk sound to their music. They had high energy that was infectious to the crowd, and kept everyone moving as they enjoyed the performance. It was just another part of what made the evening great, and definitely look forward to seeing more of them in the future.
Then it was the moment everyone was waiting for, but before that, I got a chance to interview Dematus which was filmed by Aquarius Media Productions, and you can check that out below!
September Mourning took the stage to the end the night with the lead vocalist Emily looking like tall spectral figure. All the souls were collected by their performance as the crowd was eating out of the palm of her hand. The band had a visual presence with screens that showed videos with each song that played. It really made the experience even more heightened. I have always wanted to see September Mourning live, and I can say it was very much worth the wait to do so.
In all, it was a very exciting and very fast paced show. It seemed like it flew by, but for me and Martian, the night was not over yet as we decided to have an gothic after party at Cattivo. It was the perfect way to end 2022 on a high note.
