Saved by The Scene is the first of our documentary style videos bringing you a look at the story behind the music scene. #savedbythescene is our nonprofit outreach that focuses on the connection between music and mental health. We do benefits to help places that help those trying to get their lives back from mental illness, create documentaries to raise awareness, and in 2020 we plan on taking steps to give back to the music scene through various ways using funds specifically earmarked for this.
In this self titled documentary video, released on Facebook and placed on our YouTube page, we bring you the stories of people in the Pittsburgh music scene who have struggled with PTSD, the loss of a spouse, general anxiety disorder and depression, as well as how music found the pain and helped us to heal. Following the idea of Amanda Baker, we were joined by Ambreik Creations to create the Saved by the Scene documentary, as well as Johnny DiCarlo of NeverWake, Jana Lee Macheca, of First Angel Media, Nick Musick of Skarlett Sky and several members of Oceans to Ash.
Music matters. First Angel Media was created on the foundation that music moves us and is a type of muse. Sometimes just knowing that someone has been in your shoes and survived can help you find your way through the madness. We believe Music Unites Souls Everywhere, which is why our features are Find Your MUSE, as well as our hashtag #findyourmuse. This is our story, and while private, we want you to know – We have been there, we have made it through, there are better times ahead.
We have been #savedbythescene
