GWAR returned to Pittsburgh to play a sold out show at Mr Smalls Theater and did not disappoint. Their headlining set was everything you’ve heard it would be and more! The return of Balsac the Jaws of Death was a moment triumph for his fans, who have followed closely as he was battling a rare condition. With the venue draped in black plastic, the show began with a bang, leading up to the moment these alien creatures who come to us to conquer in dark and twisted ways. From the decapitation of two poor souls to the axe to the head of a Father bearing the cross, the blood and fluids poured throughout the night. The Scumdogs of the Universe did it all to the roars and elation of the audience, bodies pressed together tightly, as some brave souls dared to surf the crowd to get closer to their Lords and Masters as they were covered in the blood of the sacrifices.

The show sold out by halfway through the night, leaving some fans unable to attend but for those of you who didn’t – there’s pictures! Make certain you see GWAR at least once… and expect to get soaked in blood and gore when you do!!

FAM is a Pittsburgh, PA based music media company that’s all about the personal, emotional and social experience of music. The internet is awesome for finding music – living it is better! We’re bringing you professional photos from shows, articles, videos and more to remind you that your weekend doesn’t have to be spent here in the virtual world but with people who have at least one thing in common with you – a shared taste for music. Music media has been done before, but we flipped the script and concentrate on the stuff you haven’t seen yet – the local and regional bands that aren’t just a name on a billboard and a face on a stage. You’re probably still going to find some national level stuff happening around the Pittsburgh area but that’s because when they come to town, they’re part of our family… and once upon a time they were a local band from somewhere.
