This past Friday September 9th was the start of the final US tour of Front 242 at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, PA. Anticipation was at his highest, and let me say, this was yet another crucial summer concert moment for the books.
It was high capacity crowd for the evening, and once everyone got settled in, Distortion Productions act Red Lokust took the stage to get the evening started on the right foot. They were a whole other beast, a force of nature ready to show everyone once and for all what they were capable of. This was their best performance to date, and left everyone satisfied with what they had to offer. Much stomping took place and they received a well deserved round of applause at the end of their set.
Then it was the moment for Front 242 to take the stage, and for being around as long as they have, they have a very energetic and thrilling stage performance. They played many of the hits from their expansive library, and with the accompanying light show, it was like being in another dimension. They had the crowd eating out of their hands as everyone was dancing and singing along. The band bid everyone a final farewell before coming back to the stage for a two song encore to end the evening.
Just another exhilarating experience for me, and I was glad I was able to attend, especially knowing this may be the final chance to catch Front 242 live. Personally this will be one I will have memories of because it was another unforgettable moment I got to have this summer.
