Band: Frantic Amber
Name: Elizabeth
Position in the band: Vocals
1) If you didn’t decide to be in a band, what do you think your passion would be?
I am a person of many passions, beside the band I also dance, model and have many creative projects. I guess if I wasn’t in a band I would do something more with my other interests. Or pursue my other career as a software programmer full on and start my own company. Hard to tell but there would for sure be a lot of time released to do something else if I wasn’t in the band.
2) What is the weirdest question you’ve ever been asked during an interview?
This one haha
3) If you could collaborate with anyone, who would that be and why?
Steve Di Giorgio is definitely one! I play bass, as well, in my spare time, so I would just stare in awe as he does his thing and hopefully learn a thing or to for my own skillset. He also seems like a nice person so it would be fun to just hang out and nerd some music.
4) At this point in your music career, do you think you could get any better as a musician and how?
There is always room for growth, it doesn’t matter who you are or how great you are, there are always small improvements and lessons to be learned. This of course also applies to us. I personally want to practise more different styles both in extreme vocals but also in clean vocals. It’s fun to go exploring and finding new things. For example throat singing is something I recently played around with.
5) One message to your fans:
I and the rest of Frantic Amber want to humbly thank you all for your support and we hope that you are enjoying our newest album “Bellatrix” that we just released this year in August. More will come and we hope to see you in the crowd as we go on tour next. Also if you want to support the band and our future ventures you can pick up our merch at our webshop: franticamber.bandcamp.com/ we ship worldwide.
6) If you could relive any moment in music history where would you go and why
That’s a tough one since there are so many. I think it would be to go see Amy Winehouse in a live concert before the big fame, drugs and alcohol. That girl sure could sing and I’m sure it would be a very inspiring moment!
7) What is your inspiration when writing music?
It can be many things and it depends on what we are writing for. In Frantic Amber I write the lyrics and for the “Bellatrix” album, everything is in the concept of female warriors throughout our history. A lot of research went into it and I read so much in order to find the ones for our songs and then attempt to translate their story into lyrics. I got inspired by their outstanding feats, courage and characteristics. I imagined myself in their shoes and in environment and wrote from that perspective.
8) Where do you hope to see your band in 5 years?
We definitely hope to be considered as one of the big bands and live off of Frantic Amber by then. Touring the world and sharing our music with our fans worldwide would just be a dream come true. We will definitely also have released another album or two by then. We will just have to wait and see but we are working hard to take the next steps forward!
9) In your opinion, what is the best song you’ve recorded?
This is a common question and I don’t choose between our songs like that. I love all our songs for what they are and even what they were if it’s an older one. I absolutely enjoy hearing my own growth as a vocalist and lyricist but I love them all equal.
10) Are you guys playing live anywhere soon? Provide the details!
Right now we are looking for shows and tours to book for the coming year. Next weekend we will play Gothenburg in Sweden and next year we have some show as well, more will come soon! Our current schedule can always be found on our website
