“Coming back to the 412, I got all my presents bought
Mom got all the perogies made, put a chair in my parking spot
It doesn’t matter if that skyline’s sprinkled with rain or snow
As long as I can cross a bridge and get to the place that I call home
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, woah-oh, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas
I like to walk the dahntahn streets, but if it’s too slippy there
I’ll see the tree that’s at the Point from the Incline or Station Square
We celebrate as a melting pot with a love that’s understood
This is what Mister Rogers called a beautiful day in the neighborhood
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, woah-oh, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas
Mom asked Santa for a Primanti’s date, Dad asked for some Steelers wins
But all I want for Christmas is to spend it with all of yinz
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, woah-oh, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, woah-oh, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas, woah-oh, nothin’ like a black and gold Christmas”

“The early media coverage ‘Black and Gold Christmas’ has received is enabling the primary goal of the song, which is to unite Pittsburghers through a celebration of the common things we love,” said Chip Dominick, vocalist and guitarist of Chip & The Charge Ups. “This is a unique opportunity for our beautiful city to bond in a stronger way than we ever have.”
In addition to the written coverage, “Black and Gold Christmas” has already been played on two major Pittsburgh radio stations and the music video had been viewed 20,000 times on Facebook in its first week. Chip & The Charge Ups, along with most of the “Black and Gold Christmas” guest vocalists, will be performing the song in the WPXI Holiday Parade on November 30.

ABOUT THE VIDEO
The video features amazing shots of Pittsburgh and some of its signature scenery: the beautiful skyline as seen when exiting the Fort Pitt Tunnels, stunning night-time shots of Downtown from Mount Washington, the city’s instantly recognizable bridge architecture, and the black-and-gold draped Strip District. Viewers will also spot classic shots of Pittsburgh things being done, from the wide-mouthed ingestion of a Primanti’s sandwich, the waving of a Terrible Towel, and the strategic placement of a chair in a parking spot. There’s even a surprise shot of lead singer Chip Dominick taking a selfie with the infamous bus in the sinkhole!

ABOUT THE GUEST VOCALISTS
The video also features footage of the song’s amazing cast of guest vocalists. In addition to Chip & The Charge Ups’ unique father-daughter singing duo of Chip & Maleena Dominick, some of the voices on the song should be very familiar to yinzers. The guest vocalists include Liz Berlin (of triple-platinum recording artist, Rusted Root), Doug Carnahan (of After The Fall, voted “Best Rock Band” in the Iron City Rocks Pittsburgh Music Awards for the past five years), Jen Craven (of emerging metal band, A Common Crown), and powerhouse gospel vocalist, Char Fields.

The song is available on all major digital music outlets.
