Music ReviewsDawn of Ashes – EMDR(Review)

Just when I thought I seen Dawn of Ashes reach their pinnacle, they push even further to show you that you haven’t seen everything yet. They are gearing up to release a new album with the concept being based on awareness of mental health. To show their sincerity, they released the first single known as “EMDR“. It is one of their most brutal tracks they have released, and continues their mastery of blending industrial music with black metal.

To those unfamiliar, EMDR is a form of psychotherapy where the person being treated is asked to recall distressing images. The song delves into that concept perfectly of a person who has suffered abused, and having to relive the trauma. The tracks starts dark and heavy, and ends that same way. This is the perfect introduction to Dawn of Ashes‘s new project, and shows they are just as heavy as they ever been, if not heavier.

The new album is called Scars of the Broken, and it will be released on March 18, 2022 via Artoffact Records. You can preorder the album here, and there are different bundles available if you wish to do so.
