It is here! October arrives this weekend, and looks like we are going to kick it off with style! Here are some spooktacular things to be watching out for.

Starting Thursday September 29th, Pink Turns Blue, The Shadow Event, and Sleeping Witch & Saturn will be descending upon Spirit in Lawrenceville, PA. It starts at 8pm, and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. You can purchase tickets to some darkwave spooky action here.

On Friday September 30th, Divine Tragedy and Para Bellum are hitting up Southside VFW in Pittsburgh, PA. They aim to misbehave at 9pm, and no admission is listed, but bring some cash to throw at them anyway!

On Saturday October 1st through Sunday October 2nd, the Pittsburgh Gaming Expo is back at the Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, PA. An awesome weekend of gaming, music, vendors, and more! There will be nerd related bands such as Master Sword, Danimal Cannon, Viking Guitar, and Big Blitz. For more information, as well tickets, check out the website for all the details!

Happening Saturday October 1st, Greaser Fest is happening at the Sub Alpine in Turtle Creek, PA. You will see performances from Whiskey Daredevils, Low Life Drifters, Thirteen Bends, Kookie Kutterz, One Revived, and The Yeggs. Get some psychobilly action and there will be a pin-up/greaser competition with prizes for best female, best male, and best couple. It will start at 4pm, and admission is $15.

Also on Saturday October 1st, there will be a six band banger happening at Green Beacon Gallery in Greensburg, PA. The bands on this one will be Prime 8, Trainwrecked, Porters, Doomdrome, The Biscuits and Sex Ant. Doors open at 6:30pm, and admission is $10 or pay what you can. You know you want to be a part of this madness, so come on down!

Then, on Saturday October 1st, Hemlock for Socrates will be holding an album release party at the Government Center in Pittsburgh, PA. They will be joined by Sneeze Awfull, 2020K, and Lilith Mors. Doors open at 7pm, and tickets are $10. You can purchase tickets here. An evening of dark moody electronica that simply cannot be missed!

In addition, on Saturday October 1st, Fang Around – It’s Party time will be spooking up The Dark Palour in York, PA. There will be vendors, bands, DJs, live entertainment and more. Costumes are highly encouraged, so this is the night to let your fangs out or let your horns show. It will feature performances from The Destruct Principle, The Mary Lous, Vampires4hire, Verminoth, Horrorwood Ending, and Ruddy Turnstone. The spooky festivities start at 1pm, and it is free to attend. There is just so much in store, so if you are in the area, you cannot miss this!

Also on tap for Saturday October 1st, STRANGEWAYS is hosting Vinyl Pop-Up at Inner Grove Brewing in Allentown, PA. There will be over a thousand vinyls for sale, and they will also be spinning spooky oddities throughout the evening. They will be set up for you at 7pm, and it is free to attend. All you need is your dancing shoes!

Saturday October 1st, Title Town is hosting it’s monthly Soul and Funk Dance Party at Spirit in Lawrenceville, PA. It will be their 13th anniversary celebration to boot, so expect it to go hard and bring out the good vibes. It will kick off at 9pm, and admission is $10.

To really bring the spookiness, Blacklist Entertainment presents their October edition of Requiem presents: Season of the Witch 2. To really mark the occasion, as guest DJS it will be the invasions of the Kellys with the return of Dj KellyA and the debut of Cadaver Kelly. This one will definitely have those dark mystical vibes going, so plan for some tricks and maybe some treats. The veil shall open at 9:30pm, and admission is $6.

That’s what will be kicking off October, and this is just the beginning. Better batten down the hatches because there is a whole lot more that will be happening before the month is over.
