We are at the halfway through July, and things are really ramping up to mark the occasion. Let’s take a look at what will be happening this weekend!
Starting us off, on Wednesday July 13th, Treasure presents an evening of darkwave, postpunk, dreampop & ethereal at The Forge in Homestead, PA. The bands playing are Faux Fear, Vazum, Flower Crown, and Hemlock for Socrates. Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. You can purchase tickets here.
On Thursday July 14th, Strike True presents Metal Night at Green Beacon Gallery in Greensburg, PA. Listen to face melting tunes from Trainwrecked, Scare Tape, Lost in the Mutiny, King of Nothing, and Anxiety at Best. Doors open at 6:30PM, and admission is $8 or pay what you can.
Also on Thursday July 14th, get ready to rage at Black Forge Coffee House II in McKees Rocks, PA. The bands looking to kick some ass will be Aversed, Victims of Contagion, and Corpse God. It starts at 7pm, and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. You can purchase tickets here.
From Friday July 15th to Saturday July 16th, it is the Final Smitefest at the Red Roof Inn in Williamsport, PA. You can expect over 40 bands to be playing both nights, as well as a pool party. You also have the option of booking a room for $80 a night if you want to be there for the long haul. Friday’s events starts at 3pm, and Saturday’s starts at 11am. On Friday July 15th, Outer Dark Media will be hosting a metal show at The Funhouse at Mr Smalls in Millvale, PA. It will feature Fires in the Distance with support from The Breathing Process, Gloom Doom, and Ancient Torture. Doors open at 6pm, and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. You can purchase tickets here. Looks to be a rager you won’t want to miss out on!
Also on Friday July 15th, Trainwrecked is back at again, this time hosting a release party for their new EP Unhinged at 222 Ormsby Ave in Pittsburgh, PA. They will have support from Cutting Ties, Darkroom, and Fall Off The Earth. Doors open at 7pm, and it is a free show. It is also BYOB. Come out and celebrate with one of most hard-working metal bands in Pittsburgh!
In addition, on Friday July 15th, we bid farewell to the venue known as Excuses in Pittsburgh, PA. The bands helping with the last hurrah will be Neostem, The Molecule Party, The Cheats, and The Legendary Hucklebucks. It starts at 8pm, and admission is $10.
As well, on Friday July 15th, get a dose of some synthwave post punk action at The Government Center in Pittsburgh, PA. You will hear from Pop. 1280, Death Instinct, Trovants, and 2020K. The show starts at 7:30PM, and tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. You can purchase tickets here.
That is not all as In Bed By Ten Dance Party will be cohosting a dance event along with Pittsburgh Vintage Mixer. It will be taking place at Spring Hill Brewing in Pittsburgh, PA. There will also be food as well as a selection of vintage vendors. It starts at 6pm, and they are asking a $5 donation that will help raise money to support Prevention Point Pittsburgh.
Our classy friends at STRANGEWAYS will be hosting a doubleheader on Friday July 15th at Belvedere’s Ultra Dive in Lawrenceville, PA. First, there will be a Record-Rama Vinyl Pop-Up. Buy, sell, or trade all genres of specially-curated new and used music and dance to some 80’s rock and roll. This will start at 5pm, and admission is $5. Then, stick around for the one year anniversary of Technique alt-80s dance party. All the groovers and shakers will be coming out for this one! Relive the memories, and make some new ones while you’re at it. The beats start dropping at 9pm, and admission is $7.
Then on Friday July 15th, Music From The 412 will be hosting their late night concert series at Southside VFW in Pittsburgh, PA. It will be featuring Vicious Chicken. It will start at 9pm, and admission is $10. A perfect chance for night owls to check out some new music.
On Saturday July 16th, Prevailer Entertainment will be hosting an Addiction Awareness Benefit at Sykesville Town Hall in Sykesville, PA. It will feature Bloodklotz, Death Descending, Feast on the Fallen, San Francisco Sex Toys, The Wasted, Less Than Zero, Assault on 5th, and Chessie and the Kittens. Doors open at 2pm, and they are taking donations of $10. All proceeds will go to The Mecca-Mann Mission who assist individuals that struggle with addiction. Good music and an even better benefit, so come out and support!
Also on Saturday July 16th, Sub Alpine Society in Turtle Creek, PA presents Slice Up The Sub. The bands playing will be Chesty Malone and the Slice ‘Em Ups, 65 Rats, Para Bellum, and Diechotomy. The show starts at 7pm, and admission is $10. The Sub is always a place to catch new bands you may have never heard of, so come on out to see what you been missing.
In addition, on Saturday July 16th, catch A Common Crown, After The Fall, and Kill the Drama playing at JB;s Roadside Bar and Grille in Curtisville, PA. It starts at 8pm, and there is mention of a cover charge, just not how much. Bring some cash and prepare to rock out!
Then, on Saturday July 16th, it will be Leechburg’s Pink Day Notes for Hope Music and Food Festival in Hyde Park, PA. There will be seven bands such as Jerry B and the Bone Tones, Miss Freddye Stover & Her Blue Band, Lenny Collini 4Pak, Marshall & the Deputies, Steel Mill Rising, Bill Toms & Hard Rain, and King Lou Hock & His Flying Circus. There will also be multiple food vendors as well as alcoholic beverages on site. The event starts at 12pm, and admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children from 6-11, and kids under 5 are free. This will be to help benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and it will be rain or shine.
As well, on Saturday July 16th, Second Skin returns to Brillobox in Pittsburgh, PA. Featuring underground and obscure, post-punk, deathrock, new wave, goth, and all the things you can dance to. A night for those who enjoy the night. It starts at 10pm, and admission is $7.
