This weekend is stacked for those looking for some post 4th of July celebration. Let’s take a look at the offerings!
Starting us off, on Thursday July 7th, Dark Glass Productions presents a metal show at Black Forge Coffee House II in McKees Rocks, PA. It will feature Nephele, The Last Reign, Amavasya, and Shadow of Corvus. If you like your metal hardhitting, this is the show for you. It starts at 7pm and tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. You can purchase tickets here.
On Friday July 8th, join in for Art and Music at Halftime Lounge in Pittsburgh, PA. You will hear music from the likes of Bag of Humans, Arsenic Tea Party, Something Involving A Monkey, Prime 8, and The Lagunas. You will get the chance to purchase some art pieces as well. It starts at 7pm, and admission is only $5.
On Saturday July 9th, prepare for Metal Meltdown at Green Beacon Gallery in Greensburgh, PA. Expect total annihilation from Narakah, Uzkost, Constant Hell, Neighbor Dan, Makeshift Urn, Sarlacc, Fastfall, Dysfigure, Grybus, and Telperion. It will be both an indoor and outdoor event, and doors open at 2pm. Suggested admission is $15, but also pay what you can to get a front row view and get your face melted in the process.
Also on Saturday July 9th, PBR Doug presents 500 Miles to Memphis returning for a second time to Pittsburgh, PA at Ormsby Ave Cafe. They will be joined by Low Life Drifters, Take The Reins, and Sammy Kay. It will be an outdoor event, so bring a chair or a blanket. Doors open at 6pm, and admission is $10.
In addition, on Saturday July 9th, come support the Sound for SisTers at Black Forge Coffee House II in Mckees Rocks, PA. It is a benefit for SisTers PGH and all proceeds will be donated there. There will be performances from Sommelier, Hearken, Halloway Williams, Thousandzz of Beez, and Shamar. Music begins at 7pm, and admission is 7pm.
As well, on Saturday July 9th, Steel City Destroyers presents a Summer Blowout at Porky’s Bar and Grill in Etna, PA. You will hear bands such as Billy Batts & The Made Men, The Cheats, Misunderstood, The Snipped, and 65 Rats. Doors open at 6:30PM, and admission is $10. Come out to enjoy a stacked punk show!
On Saturday July 9th, enjoy an evening of ska, rock, and hardcore at Main Street Tavern in Monongahela, PA. You will hear from Forsaken by Society, God’s Green Apples, and The Sneaky Heat Missiles. It will be an outdoor event which starts at 7:30PM, and there is no cover charge.
Saturday July 9th, there will be a punk show at Whisper Nest in Millvale, PA. It will feature UNDERSTATEMENT, Wasted Space, Dead Selves, and Teddy Cosmo. Doors open at 7pm, and admission is $10. Yet another punk offering for the evening, so you have options!
Saturday July 9th, Murder For Girls is having a vinyl release party for their album Nine Stories released via Katzulhu Productions. It will be taking place at the Government Center in Pittsburgh, PA. They will have musical support from Inco Fido and Dumplings. It starts at 8pm, and admission is $10 or you can pay $20 and get a copy of the album.
It is not in Pittsburgh, but on Saturday July 9th, Midsummer Metal Fest will be invading Wells Township Haunted House in Brilliant, Ohio. It will have Pittsburgh bands such as Iron Brigade, Skarlett Sky, Strangle The Witness, and CRASH ARMY, as well as bands around the area like Doctor Smoke, Altared States, Skeptic Lens, and Agnauseam. There will be a lights out tour of the haunted house you can attend where you only get one flashlight per group, if you ar brave enough, just sign the waiver and you are in. There will be a food truck and even a mechanical bull you can ride. Doors open at 3pm, and admission is $14. You can purchase VIP tickets if you want to avoid the wait in line for the haunted house here. Spooky time and metal all in one place? Sounds worth it to me!
To top it off, there will be a duo of dance nights happening on Saturday July 9th in Lawrenceville. The first will be hosted by STRANGEWAYS who is returning to Belvedere’s Ultra Dive for {the modern age}indie rock dance party. Gather your friends, come out to dance to the best indie rock music you never knew. The jams start at 9pm, and admission is $7 before 10pm, $10 after.
Then Evolution returns to Cattivo for their monthly dance night of spooky hits and bangers. Featuring the best in Coldwave, Darkwave, Goth, Industrial, New Wave, Synthpop and more! The beats drop at 9:30PM, and admission is $5.
