March has arrived, and that means spring is coming as well as good times ahead. This weekend brings happenings to give us a taste of what is to come.

Starting us off, for horror fans, starting Friday March 4th until Sunday March 6th, Horror Realm Con will be taking place at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsburgh PA. Featuring celebrities such as Kane Hodder from the Friday the 13th franchise as well as some of the cast members from Fright Night. There will be a varied selection of vendors with horror related items to browse through. To see all the celebs attending as well as purchasing tickets, check out the website for more details.

On Friday March 4th, Alice in Chains tribute band Mad Alice will be playing at Casey’s Bar in Pittsburgh, PA and will be joined by CRASH ARMY. The gig starts at 8pm, and admission is $10.

Also on Friday March 4th, an epic night of high energy heavy metal will be taking place at Cattivo in Lawrenceville, PA with the arrival of High Spirits. They will be joined by Ironflame, Lady Beast, and Tiny Wars. This high octane night starts at 8pm, and admission is $12.

Saturday March 5th, prepare to get your face melted when Drusky Entertainment presents Obscura invading Preserving Underground in New Kensington, PA. They will have support from Decrepit Birth, Interloper, and Victims of Contagion. The annihilation begins at 6:30pm, advance tickets are $25 or $27 day of show. You can purchase tickets here.

Also on Saturday March 5th, Drusky Entertainment will also be hosting Kore Rozzik and Royal Honey at Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh, PA. They will be joined by The Cheats and Seethe. A little of everything at this show from punk to trap metal. It starts at 8pm, and advance tickets are $15 or $17 the day of show. You can purchase tickets for the show here.

In addition on Saturday March 5th, Title Town will be hosting their March edition of the Soul and Funk Party. After a two month hiatus, they are stoked to rock the house down at Spirit Bar in Lawrenceville, PA. The party starts at 9pm, and admission is $7 before 10pm, $10 after.

Sunday March 6th, Some Die Nameless will be hosting a show 222 Ormsby Ave in Pittsburgh, PA. It will feature Deal’s Gone Slack which is a collaboration between members of Deal’s Gone Bad and The Slackers. They will be joined by Stop The Presses and The Burnrides. Featuring a little of punk and ska, the shows starts at 5:30PM, and admission is $10.

Also on Sunday March 6th, spend an evening with Modern Fossils at Black Forge Coffee House II in Mckees Rocks, PA. The doors open for this intimate gig at 6pm, and tickets are $7. You can purchase those here.

That is everything going down the first weekend of March, and what a way to start things off. As things get warmer, you can expect more things like this to start happening as the concert season will be looking to ramp things up.
