It is officially the last month of 2021, and to start us off, there are a good bit of events to come for the first weekend of December. Here is what to look forward to help you relax from the stress and madness of the holidays.
Thursday, December 2nd, electronic pop band Korine will be coming to The Funhouse at Mr Smalls in Millvale, PA. They will have support from Johnny Dynamite & The Bloodsuckers and Take Me With You. The show starts at 8pm, and tickets are $12. You can purchase those here. If you enjoy your music with that synth post punk flavor, then this is the show for you.
Friday December 3rd, prepare to get heavy as Immortal Bird, Witching, and Mold Farmer descend upon Cattivo in Lawrenceville. The doors open at 8:30PM, and advance tickets are $13 or you can purchase day of the show for $15. You can get tickets here.
Also on Friday December 3rd, STRANGEWAYS presents Friday Night Fights. It will be four way match between The Cure vs The Smiths vs New Order vs Depeche Mode. It is sure to be a real slobberknocker with anything goes, no disqualifications, no count outs, only one will prevail by pin fall or submission. The match begins at 9pm, and if you want to see who will win, admission is $7. Just bring your dancing shoes so you can gyrate away as the bands battle it out for ultimate supremacy.
Saturday December 4th, Steel City Destroyers is bring honky tonk metal to the Sub Alpine in Turtle Creek. It will feature bands such as Scattered Hamlet, Dragline, The Lowlife Drifters, and The Filthy Lowdown. The show starts at 7pm, and admission is $10. If you want to have some headbanging kneeslapping fun, then get your butt down there.
Also on Saturday December 4th, Prime 8, Neostem, Grampian, False Positive, and Black Squirrel Run will be hitting the Halftime Lounge in Pittsburgh, PA. You get to see five talented bands for only 5 bucks, quite a deal if I say so myself. Doors open at 7pm, so don’t miss it.
Lastly, on Saturday December 4th, Title Town hits the December edition of their Soul & Funk Party at Spirit bar in Lawrenceville. It is the last party of the year, and they will be helping you warm up from the winter chill. The dancing starts at 9pm, and admission is $7 before 10pm, $10pm after.
